The World Video Game Hall of Fame has inducted some of the most influential video games every year since its inception in 2015. It would be a fitting way to honor Virtua Fighter’s impact on the fighting genre and give it a much-deserved moment in the spotlight.

Sometimes defining a genre is a team effort, which is evident in the Metroidvania genre. Metroidvania takes its name from two series: metroid and Castlevania. Both metroid and Castlevania would inspire many Metroidvania games that would forever be tied to these two franchises. What better way to induct early Metroidvania games than by inducting both a metroid and one Castlevania game in the same class?
