Summer 2022 is fast approaching and a new slate of highly anticipated video games is on the way. There’s a little something for everyone coming to PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox and PC in the coming months, from sports games to horror games to RPGs. Here are some titles to watch this summer.
“Mario Strikers: Battle League” (June 10)
the Mario Strikers the series is finally getting another episode after nearly 15 years. Mario Strikers: Battle League allows players to participate in traditional football matches. But, like any Mario sports game, it has some absolutely chaotic twists and turns. As seen in the recently released gameplay preview trailer (below), battle league will allow tackles and attacks, including a team tackle that pushes a teammate into an opponent.
Additionally, players can use glowing orbs to charge up and perform Hyper Strikes, or specialized, extra-powerful moves based on their chosen character. Of course, the game also features classic Mario items like seashells, banana peels, and even an electric fence. As the trailer says, Mario Strikers: Battle League has only one rule: “rule the field”.
Mario Strikers: Battle League comes to Nintendo Switch on June 10.
‘The Quarry’ (June 10)
Horror movie fans like overnight camp, Friday 13and Chainsaw Massacre will want to keep their eyes on The career. This “interactive survival horror drama” features famous names in the cast like Scream David Arquette, Ariel Winter and Brenda Song.
The career follows a group of counselors to a camp called Hackett’s Quarry, where the summer program is about to end. The teenagers want to celebrate one last night together, but the evening quickly turns awful when someone – or something – starts chasing them. Every decision a player makes will affect the outcome of the story, including who lives or dies. Those who prefer to sit and watch The career can do it in Movie mode.
The career is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Steam on June 10.

In celebration of street fighterIn celebration of Capcom’s 35th anniversary, Capcom has compiled 10 of its classic arcade fighting games into one collection of brutal brawlers. Players can battle solo or with friends via online multiplayer. Additionally, arcade games received quality of life improvements, such as a quick save feature.

Capcom Battle Collection will launch on Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on June 24.
‘Xenoblade Chronicles 3’ (July 29)
Another highly anticipated summer 2022 video game is Xenoblade Chronicles 3, which will eventually arrive five years after the sequel. This action takes place in Aionios, a world where two nations – Keves and Agnus – clash. Players take the role of one soldier from each nation, Noah and Mio.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will feature the same open-world format as its predecessors. However, the third installment allows larger groups to participate in even larger battles with a wide range of new abilities.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be released for Nintendo Switch on July 29.
‘Saints Row’ (August 23)
To finish, Saints Row fans can expect a reboot of the hit 2000s video game franchise this summer. Taking some similarities with Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row follows three gangs in the fictional town of Santo Ileso. When the gangs begin to experience trouble, some members leave and form a new gang with the player character, known as The Boss.
The player’s goal is to take control of different districts and become the new leader of the city. Saints Row will also have a multiplayer mode, where secondary players can participate in their own missions as well as assist the main player.
Saints Row will launch on the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on August 23.
