Asterix and Friends, gameXcite’s popular building game, is getting a remastered version that’s available now on iOS, Android, and PC. The free-to-play cross-platform title from the German game development studio has upgraded its old-school Flash game to a new Unity-powered experience, with a bunch of new in-game content on top of updated visuals.
In particular, Asterix and Friends adds a villager, new questlines, journeys, and more. Players can visit Corsica, Spain, and Britain, and engage in hilarious tales inspired by comic book locations and lore. The game also benefits from a collaboration with licensee Les Éditions Albert René in the making of Gardenia, the wife of the village blacksmith.
The quests themselves are divided into five stages, each with nine exciting chapters. Clearing each chapter unlocks the next, and your reputation levels will also come into play with the local faction. You will need to plan the best mix of traits, villages, equipment, etc. to succeed in your missions. Earned currencies allow you to spruce up your village with exclusive goodies from faction shops.
If you can’t wait to build your own Gallic village and embark on new adventures with Asterix and Obelix (you can also join guilds with other players to fend off the Romans), Asterix and Friends is now available to download at the Google Play Store for Android Devices and on the iOS App Store. It’s a free game with in-app purchases. You can also visit the official site to catch up on all the latest developments or take a look at the trailer above to get an idea of the gameplay.
