A Reddit user dumped information from the dump Call of Duty Campaign: Black Ops 4 online with over 400 images of documentation, early builds, in-progress screenshots, and more. finishing” called Carrière which would have offered a cooperative live service experience. A preview of the canceled Black Ops 4 campaign
The career was set in 2070, dubbed the “year of chaos” in the game as it was marked by a pandemic as well as several weather disasters, which led to a depletion of the world’s resources. Two factions began to war against each other: the Free People’s Army (FPA) and the United Nations World Organization (WUN). Players could choose a faction to play as, and their gameplay experience, story, missions, and characters would vary based on their choice.
Each mission was supposed to last 15-20 minutes, and some even had a timer. There would have been around six story locations in total, but each location would have been twice as large as those seen in Black Ops 3. Each of the aforementioned factions came with their own “manager” guiding players through missions.
Apparently, four of Career’s missions were “nearly done” and nearing their final releases before Treyarch dropped the whole thing. These missions were: Air Assault Convoy, Data Control, Data Escape and Snatch and Grab.
“One of the extremely important characters in the story was the reporter, who would have several missions centered around him, reporting behind enemy lines with the Colombian FPA,” Purpletoaster20 wrote. Concept art for one of their missions can be seen above.
