Dr Disrespect has an interesting idea to balance the controller against. Mouse and keyboard gameplay in his game

Dr Disrespect is well known in the gaming world for many reasons. For example, he has a character instantly recognizable by his many fans on Youtube because of his black mullet, red vest, and cool hues. However, beyond his over-the-top attitude, the Doc also has a history with game design. And not so long ago, he decided to put that passion back to work when he announced last December that he had started his own AAA development studio called Midnight Society to create a new video game.

While details about the project are scarce, occasionally fans learn of possible ideas for the game from the Doc himself during his weekly live streams. Recently, Dr. Disrespect revealed an unusual way to potentially balance the power of aim assist on a controller against the accuracy of aim assist on a mouse in his game. During a recent YouTube live stream , a viewer in his chat implored the Doc not to add aim assist to his game. Unsurprisingly, the YouTube streamer was quick with a response. However, her response probably surprised some fans.

Many long-time Dr Disrespect fans know that he often complained about aim assist ruining his matches in various games, such as Call of Duty: Warzone. Despite this, the Doc shockingly admitted that the feature has a place in video games. “You must have some aim assist, right?” he said. According to Dr Disrespect, he feared that removing the feature altogether would lead to the complete destruction of controller players by PC gamers.

That being said, Dr Disrespect revealed that he had a “multi-million dollar idea” for a mode that would eliminate aim assist. However, he noted that there would be added incentive for players to continue playing his game on a controller. Based on Doc’s comments, players playing on a controller without aim assist in this mode would gain rarer loot or possibly more XP as a reward, making the risk/reward much greater.

It’s worth mentioning that the YouTube streamer suggested this idea as an LTM, which means he might not think it would work as a permanent part of a game. This is understandable for an obvious reason; while the loot would be better, those playing without aim assist might grow increasingly frustrated losing to those with a competitive edge. Conversely, the sense of accomplishment and additional loot for controller players beating mouse and keyboard players without aim assist cannot be understated.

It’s exciting for many Dr Disrespect fans to hear him discuss potential plans for Midnight Society and his in-development project. Time will tell if this unique type of LTM suggested by the Doc during his recent live stream will ever be included in his next game.
