Poor Infinite Halo can’t seem to get a break, as a pretty big glitch would now plague those who enjoy the game’s multiplayer mode. Infinite HaloThe multiplayer mode received a lot of praise when it launched because it released several weeks ahead of schedule and it’s free for everyone, even if they don’t have an Xbox Game Pass subscription. It’s incredibly accessible, it’s really fun, and it’s hugely innovative for the FPS genre. That said, that didn’t stop him from having a ton of trouble. Many players have criticized the rollout of new content, particularly pointing out how slow it is, and have ridiculed how in-game progression works as it was and still is tied to a challenge system that makes unlocking items slow and sometimes not fun.
The last issue has a major impact on players, potentially even after they log out of the game. Infinite Halo player NicmeistaR said on Twitter that after just two games of Infinite Halo, the network will use more than 1 GB of data. Simply put, it can really hurt those with data caps as it can cause the ISP to slow down the network speed, add extra charges to the bill, or even shut down the internet altogether. The Twitter user went on to say that one of the issues is that the game is downloading the battle pass image 2,000 times when you return to the main menu of Infinite Halo for some unknown reason. The initial claim was confirmed by Reddit user wowisthatreal who echoed similar conclusions. The user also noted that this should be an easy fix for 343 Industries.
Upon further inspection, I found that an average match only used about 11MB.
However. After each match, the main menu fetches around 300MB of data from the CDN on PC and Xbox. Which, after about 2 matches, generates over 1 GB of network traffic. It’s crazy.https://t.co/Gj4mDwjntR https://t.co/17H9eomjnK

Infinite downloads the Season 2 banner image about 1000-2000 times, which is about 1-1.5 GB of wasted data. Downloads stop while you are in a match, but after exiting the menu, the download starts again. This should be an easily fixable problem on 343’s side. of
That said, it’s just another problem for Infinite Halo, a game that just can’t avoid controversy at this point. It’s almost a running joke and many fans of the game laughed at it at this point. If you have a limited data plan, it’s probably best to limit your time on Infinite Halo until this issue is hopefully resolved.
