Infinity Ward’s new studio to help develop Modern Warfare II

Infinity Ward has opened a new studio branch in Austin, Texas to help develop its upcoming AAA Call of Duty game, the company has announcement.

Development for Call of Duty 2022 is underway, and while Activision uses most of its studios to help develop the game, the project is being led by Infinity Ward. Rumor has it that the next game will be called Modern Warfare II and be a sequel to the Modern Warfare franchise reboot in 2019. While Infinity Ward has yet to confirm any details, they are gearing up for something big and have opened a new studio branch in Texas to help with the game. .

The Austin, Texas branch will join existing teams based in California, Poland and Mexico. The studio is currently on a massive hiring wave and has 111 jobs available in its offices, but there are no announcements available for the newly opened Texas studio.

Most notable jobs have confirmed that Modern Warfare II will use “Cutting-edge rendering and AI technologies”, possibly taking advantage of the machine learning inference capabilities of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S consoles. Other jobs also mention that Call of Duty 2022 should have both campaign and cooperative modes.
