Man commits suicide after losing Rs 10 lakh in online game in Rajgarh

Rajgarh (Madhya Pradesh): A 30-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train after losing Rs 10 lakh in an online game in Rajgrah, police sources said.

The body of the man identified as Vinod Dangi was found on a train track in the village of Padonia late Sunday evening.

According to the police, Dangi resided in Biaora and owned a shopping complex near Sarpanch Dhaba on the Biaora-Bhopal road.

Traders at the shopping complex told police that Dangi was addicted to the “Teen Patti” online game. Previously, he was busy with his cell phone and made bets to earn cash rewards, traders told police.

“According to his friends, Dangi started playing the game about three months ago. He had lost Rs 10 lakh in the game over the past three months. He had borrowed money from traders to place bets in the game, ”said a police officer.

The officer said Dangi had previously attempted suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his house, despite being rescued by family members.

Biaora Rural Police Station official Aditya Soni said Dangi left his home on Sunday afternoon. When he did not return home that evening, the family started looking for him. His mutilated body was later found on the train tracks, Soni said.

“It turned out that he was addicted to an online game. We have opened an investigation to determine the exact cause of his extreme steps, ”Soni said.
