Marvel MMORPG unannounced in development at Dimensional Ink

Swedish video game company Enad Global 7 has revealed that one of its subsidiaries is working on an unannounced massively multiplayer Marvel online game. That subsidiary happens to be Dimensional Ink Games, a division of Daybreak Game Company.

EG7 included this news in its Q3 2021 investor presentation, as noted by ResetEra user Uzupedro. The project is led by Jack Emmert, who designed and directed City of heroes, and currently runs DC Universe Online.

No other information is available at the moment.

Interestingly, about two weeks ago, an insider known by the name of Shpeshal Nick claimed in his Xbox Era podcast that Sony had signed a deal for a DC Universe Online-type of game set in the Marvel universe. While Shpeshal Nick has said he doesn’t know which developer is behind the title, he speculated it could be Insomniac Games due to recent job postings from the studio in connection with the title. multiplayer. However, it appears to be not.

It’s also unclear what kind of deal Sony has made here. The company is no stranger to timed PlayStation exclusives, but given its history with Marvel properties, complete exclusivity is not outside the realm of possibility.

ResetEra user Miller added weight to this story as well. An untitled Marvel game from Daybreak has been listed in the famous GeForce Now leak, which has been accurate so far. Emmert, who is now leading the effort, was previously lead designer on Marvel Universe Online at Cryptic Studios before Microsoft canned the project.

We will update our readers when we have more information.
