The official layout of panels and events for this year’s Star Wars Celebration may have given fans their first taste of what’s to come for Disney’s space franchise when it comes to animation. As spotted by GamesRadara sign for the not otherwise advertised Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi passed out briefly before disappearing as quickly as the image of Sebastian Shaw at the end of Return of the Jedi.

The description of the panel describes Tales of the Jedi as an animated anthology and listed famed Star Wars animation producer Dave Filoni among its panelists. The name Tales of the Jedi connects to a Dark Horse comic book series that explored the events of the Old Republic era, the same pre-prequel period as EA’s Star Wars massively multiplayer online role-playing game.
Tales of the Jedi would be one of a long line of animated projects expanding the Star Wars universe beyond the movies. From the first days of Ewoks and his mind-numbing theme song to recent Bad lot on Disney+, Star Wars fans had plenty of options. Although it is not guaranteed that Tales of the Jedi will return to comic tales, it would be an interesting break from the mandalorian-centric universe Disney has built on their streaming platform.

It’s unclear if the series is simply borrowing a great-sounding name or adapting the comedic tales, but fans won’t have to wait long to find out. The Star Wars Celebration is about a month away, with the panel in question supposedly occurring on May 28.
