Parts of the next Skyrim The board game will take place before the events of the game and will include younger versions of the characters from the Bethesda title.
This comes from a Polygon interview from earlier today (November 2), where table game designer Juan Echenique said: “The first campaign takes place 25 years before [the events of the video game], you will be able to meet some of the [non-player characters] of Skyrim, but 25 years before when they were a young adventurer and then they take an arrow to the knee – and it happens!
“The second campaign begins before the arrival of the Dragonborn,” Echenique continues, “and ends after the arrival of the Dragonborn. So you can see all the events caused by the Dragonborn. You will come across the Dragonborn – they’re just a different character – and it’s really fun watching that from a distance.
Developed by Modiphius Entertainment – which also manufactures Old scrolls miniatures and Publication date table games – you can learn more about the title on its official fundraising page.
Officially titled Skyrim – The Adventure Game, it houses up to four players who work as a team in relatively short gaming sessions. The game will feature six playable characters, each based on an iconic race from the series.
Modiphius founder Chris Birch said: “Imagine climbing the face of a six-sided pyramid and we all climb to the top; a great finale. But on my pyramid, I can go up to the right, I can go up to the left, I can go up in the center. So I have several choices to be at the top of my side of the story with my playstyle. But there are six other sides.
Elsewhere in the realm of Skyrim, new content for the anniversary edition of the game includes questions and items based on previous titles Morrowind and Oversight.
In other news, a PlayStation and Champions League announcement has Kratos, Aloy, Nathan Drake and other icons on the pitch.
