Can you really call an animated series popular if it doesn’t have a fighting game? After breaking box office records, selling over a million Blu-Rays and DVDs in three days, and leading manga sales, it was only a matter of time before Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba got the video game treatment.
Developed by CyberConnect2, the team behind the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja fight series, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Chronicles of Hinokami is based on the anime adaptation of the excellent manga series by Koyoharu Gotouge. Specifically, the game is based on the first season of the anime and the Mugen train film – the latter of which should also occupy the first seven episodes of the series’ upcoming second season.
If you have played any of the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Games, you know exactly what to expect with it. You’ll play more or less through key moments in the anime, battling various grunting demons before taking on the series’ main villains, like the Twelve Kizuki, in big boss battles.

If you haven’t read the original manga, I highly recommend you take it. I squashed it through Viz’s Shonen Jump service earlier this year and had a blast with it.
