Is GTA 6 out in two years, that is to say in 2024? Recently, a Grand Theft Auto “insider” apparently teased that the next episode of the series will be released in 2024. The tease came, more specifically, Matheusvictorbr, a Twitter user who has cultivated a following for sharing various scoops regarding Rockstar Games and the titles they are working on. In the past, this person was both on and off, making it hard to know what weight should be given to their teasing and scooping.
The leaker does not divulge a specific release date, nor does it outright say GTA 6 comes out in 2024, but that’s speculation a tweet saying “2024, vejo voces” has created. For those who don’t speak Portuguese, Google Translate translates “vejo voces” to “I see you”. There is no mention of GTA 6 in the tweet, but it’s unclear what else they might be teasing.
So is it possible? While Rockstar Games just officially announced the game earlier this year, that’s not when it started development. From what we’ve heard, it’s been in development for a long time, long before Red Dead Redemption 2 came out in 2018. That said, if it’s going to be released in 2024, it will have to be revealed this year.
Rockstar Games developed a model of announcing a game and then releasing it two years later. In fact, this often gives a game a release date for the following year, but then postpones that release date to the following year, thus creating the two-year period in question.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide any validation for this speculation. While we’ve heard tidbits about the game and its development here and there, we haven’t heard anything recently about a 2024 release window. What we do know about the game’s development timeline, it’s definitely possible.
